Search for man after woman 'followed from taxi and sexually assaulted'


Police have released an image of a man they believe can assist them after a woman was allegedly followed and sexually assaulted.

On Sunday at about 2.40am, NSW police said a woman got into a taxi outside a licensed premises in Towradgi, north of Wollongong.

An unknown man then got into the taxi and the pair travelled 1.6 kilometres away to Tarrawanna.

Police will allege the woman got out of the taxi and the man followed her into a house where he sexually assaulted her.

The man left the home and she called police.

Officers have released a photo of a man that may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being about 170cm tall, of medium build, aged between 30 and 40, with short grey/silver hair.

He was last seen wearing a navy blue hooded jumper and dark pants.
