'Nightmare of every parent': School worker jailed for abusing teen
A former school staff member who had sex with a 16-year-old boy will spend six months in jail.
Courtney Roznowski, 32, from Green Bay, in the US state of Wisconsin, was on Friday sentenced to jail after pleading no contest to one count of exposing intimate parts to a child, Fox 11 reports.
On sentencing, judge Donald Zuidmulder called the woman’s actions “appalling”.
“You are, frankly, the nightmare of every parent,” he said.
“Because what a parent assumes is that their child is in a safe environment with trusting people.”
Roznowski told police in September last year she had sex with the boy twice but was intoxicated and unable to remember the first time it happened and “throwing up” on the second occasion at the victim’s house, the Green Bay Press Gazette reported.
The boy told investigators the 32-year-old called him “special” and said he “deserved special things”, ABC2 reported.
He also confirmed the two sexual encounters with Roznowski, who the Metro reports was a teacher’s aide at his school.
Another employee at the school also told investigators Roznowski and the boy were “unusually close” and she was often seen escorting him through the halls of the school.
The 32-year-old will also serve three years’ probation.
