Amazing encounter with white pointer caught on camera

FIRST ON 7: Four fishermen have captured their amazing encounter with a giant white pointer off the coast of South Australia on camera.

On Wednesday afternoon the shark circled their seven-metre boat for half an hour off Althorpe Island, off the southern tip of the Yorke Peninsula.

The giant beast even lashed out and bit the boat, attacking a step on the back of the vessel.

“When it come up and bit the back of my boat, it latched on, it was like my missus,” fisherman Roly Huart said.

The force of the shark rocked the three tonne boat.

“It rolled on its side and that black eye was looking at me and it made the hair on the back on my neck stand up,” fisherman Alan Conley said.

The close encounter comes less than two weeks after another shark attack at Marion Bay in which two fishermen in a tinny were almost tipped out.
