Historic clipper ship arrives at Port Adelaide

The historic ‘City of Adelaide’ clipper ship has arrived in Port Adelaide after a 38,000 kilometre rescue voyage from the United Knigdom.

It is almost 125 years since she was last seen in South Australia as a migrant ship, but now another vital role is about to begin.

The City of Adelaide was purpose built to bring European migrants to Adelaide from 1864 to 1886.

So many people made the trip that today, one in four South Australians has a connection to those passengers.

The group who bought the clipper back to SA are looking for volunteers and support for the next step - her restoration.
