Runaway girl's note to police who brought her home
An eight-year-old girl has written a heartwarming note to the police officers who brought her home after she ran away.
Cheshire Police, from the UK, tweeted image of the handwritten note from the little girl on Monday saying they had just received “this lovely letter”.
The note was a heartfelt apology from the young runaway dated December 6.
“I am very sorry that my mum called you when I ran away,” the girl wrote.
“I will never do it again and I know my mum and dad were very worried when I did it.
“I’m sorry that I wasted your time.
Officers were delighted by the contrite letter.
“Forgiveness on our part is not required here, but if you’re reading this we offer it nonetheless and thank you for your kind words which mean so much to us,” Cheshire Police tweeted on Monday.
“Have a safe and happy end to the year.”
