Royal wedding guests selling their goodie bags for $700

Only two days have passed since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding but members of the public who bagged a golden ticket to the ceremony are already flogging their commemorative merchandise online.

To mark the big day, each of the 2,640 guests invited to celebrate in the grounds of Windsor Castle received a canvas bag emblazoned with the newlyweds’s initials.

Inside, the goodie bags were jam-packed with a wedding programme, tin of shortbread, fridge magnet, large chocolate coin, bottle of Windsor Castle water and a 20 per cent off voucher for the souvenir shop.

And in a bid to make a regal profit, guests begun selling their gifts on eBay just a mere matter of hours after the ceremony took place at St George’s Chapel.

Many of the promotional images are staged in the grounds of Windsor Castle, with the bags’ contents sprawled out in full view for potential buyers.

Unsurprisingly, the commemorative items are already fetching for a small fortune with bidding kick-starting at the $885 mark with many including their spectator badges and wrist bands for added profit.

According to Sky News, the price of one goodie bag doubled within the space of half an hour as the unsuspecting newlyweds danced the night away at Frogmore House.

By the morning, the souvenir had reached $727 thanks to a serious bidding war.

While other royal fans have been a little more sly by selling PDFs of the couple’s Order of Service for $8.80 online despite the fact that they are free to download from the Kensington Palace website.

Fingers crossed you haven’t placed a bid.
