Rifle, sledgehammer used in home invasion

Men armed with a rifle and a sledgehammer have stolen cash and car keys during a home invasion in Sydney’s south.

The incident happened in the suburb of Yowie Bay, on June 2.

A man who was home at the time of the intrusion received a laceration to the face.

The trio fled the scene in a silver Audi RS6, and police have now released CCTV images of the home invaders.

The three men broke into the home on Wyralla Rd about 10.40pm on a Sunday last month.

The group forced entry through the front door. Police were told the trio threatened the occupants, demanded money, and had a long-arm rifle and sledgehammer between them.

The robbers took cash and car keys. Police have few details of the men to publicly share.

The first man is described as medium build, wearing a light grey hoodie, dark grey pants with a black face covering.

The second man has a medium build too and was wearing a black hooded jacket and baseball cap, light grey pants and dark reflective gloves. He held a long-arm rifle.

The third man is thin and held the sledgehammer. He was wearing a light-coloured hooded jumper, black pants and black shoes.

The getaway vehicle used appears to be a silver 2018 Audi RS6 station wagon.
