Recall after metal discovered inside popular children's lollipop

On the eve of Halloween, two popular children’s lollypops are being recalled after pieces of metal were found inside the candy.

Park Avenue Foods is carrying out a recall of My Little Pony and Avengers Giant Pops, which weigh 180 grams, after the contamination was discovered.

According to the Food Standards Australia website, the products have been available for sale at Priceline stores around the country.

The website also states the lollypops have a best before date of July 1, 2020 and originated in China.

“The recall is due to the presence of foreign matter (metal). Food products containing metal may cause injury if consumed,” the recall message on the Food Standards Australia website states.
