“It’s a bit of a shock when they said they found someone dead inside.”

Police said the woman’s 46-year-old partner found her on the floor when he came home from work on Friday afternoon.

He performed CPR and then called paramedics.

What happened next is unknown but it prompted Queensland Ambulance Services to call police.

“There’s certain aspects of the crime scene that pointed QAS to want to call police and come and have a look and investigate,” Detective Acting Inspector Heath McQueen said.

Seven News understands the woman appeared to have an unexplained facial injury.

The woman was a mother of one and police said the child didn’t always stay at the home.

“The partner’s distraught, the victim’s family are from overseas and we are making all attempts to contact them,” Detective Acting Inspector McQueen said.

An autopsy has been carried out and police will wait on results due next week.
