Teen Nomads bikie associate charged with murder

A Nomads bikie associate has been charged after he handed himself into police after allegedly shooting a man dead on the Gold Coast.

Armed, dangerous and suspected of a daylight killing, for hours Taylor Ruatara and Renee Moseley evaded police after Ruatara allegedly shot 41-year-old Jason Boyd at his Carrara home, this morning.

Ruatara, an 18-year-old bikie associate, handed himself in to officers at the Southport police station on Friday afternoon, but 31-year-old Mosley is still on the run.

Police released pictures of the two suspects earlier.

Ruatara has since been charged with one count of murder and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on December 3.

Mosley is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 172cm tall, with blue eyes and a tattoo on her neck.

It has been reported that Mr Boyd had links to the Nomads bikie gang.

Mr Boyd's devastated sister Susan O'Sullivan told 7 News that he was a "fantastic uncle" to her four children.

"And to say that he is a member of a bikie gang is absolutely heartbreaking to our family at this most devastating time," Ms O'Sullivan, told 7 News.

"He has never been in trouble with the law, ever."

A local resident told the Gold Coast Bulletin that they had been petitioning to have the occupants kicked out for months.

“There’s always trouble there, they were terrorising the neighbourhood,” they said.

Paramedics arrived at a gated residence in Carrara, where Boyd lived inside a shed on the property, about 8.45am on Friday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating whether the shooting may be connected to an outlaw bikie group and whether drugs were involved.

Detective Hogan refused to speculate what the build up to the shooting was or how many times the victim was shot until crime scene management was properly undertaken.

A man who witnessed the attack was treated at the scene for shock.
