Shirtless schoolies throw punches in Gold Coast street group brawl

A wild mass brawl has erupted among a group of schoolies on the Surfers Paradise beachfront, captured on mobile phone footage.

The video begins with two young men shoving one another and throwing punches before about 10 others join the fight.

The group of youths, some shirtless, continue the brawl as onlookers watch.

Beach security guards, wearing yellow high visibility vests, calmly attempt to separate the warring men, who continue to argue before the clip cuts out.

The video emerged a week after a large brawl erupted among schoolies on the Gold Coast when an Australian mocked a group of New Zealanders performing a haka.

A confrontation between an Australian and a New Zealander quickly turned into an all-in brawl with police seen quickly grabbing the Australian who allegedly inflamed the situation and tackled him to the ground.

The official week of schoolies 2016 concluded Saturday morning, as thousands of school leavers enjoyed a final night of organised activities in Surfers Paradise.

While schoolies ends for Queensland school leavers, a large number of interstate schoolies have begun arriving on the Gold Coast and an increased police presence will remain in the Surfers Paradise precinct throughout the next two weeks.
