'May cause injury': Leggo's pasta sauce recalled from Woolworths

A popular pasta sauce has been urgently recalled nationwide over fears it could contain fragments of metal and plastic.

Food Standards Australia has reported that Patties Foods Pty Ltd has recalled Leggo’s Fresh Napoli Sauce with Tomato, Garlic, Basil & Oregano 250g.

The sauce is available at Woolworths nationwide with the Leggo's website warning consumers that it could cause illness or injury if consumed.

Imported dates recalled after Hepatitis A outbreak

Earlier in the month, the NSW Food Authority recalled Picky Eaters Pty Ltd 1kg and 5kg packs of Jordan River dates after a potential microbial Hepatitis A contamination was detected.

The products, which have an expiry date of June 2022, were sold at IGA and Independent supermarkets across NSW and online.

Weet-Bix forced to issue urgent recall

Weet-bix was also forced to issue an urgent recall recently after a free gift given to consumers in a promotion was deemed a choking hazard.

The ACCC issued a warning about the “Weet-Bix Little Kids Essentials Bowl Giveaway” promotion for anyone who purchased Weet-Bix Little Kids Essentials products.

Entrants could scan a QR code to go into an online draw for a Weet-Bix spoon and bowl. However, the ACCC said the spoon is a choking hazard.

“If the tip separates from the handle, it can pose a choking hazard for young children, which can lead to severe injury or death,” the recall said.
