'Losing faith in humans': Photos show horrific case of animal cruelty

WARNING - GRAPHIC CONTENT: A woman claims she discovered a dead bird hanging from a coat hanger during her morning walk.

In a Facebook post, the woman said she stumbled upon the small green and black bird in Byron Bay on Tuesday.

Accompanying images show the animal and coat hanger laying on the ground in front of a real estate sign.

“So I was out on my morning walk... and came across this poor little guy,” she said.

“Originally the coat hanger was hung from the sign, but a lady kindly lay the bird on the ground.

“The bird’s legs are actually tied with a rubber band to the coat hanger. WTF (what the f***) is wrong with some people?”

The woman said she was “very quickly losing faith in humans”.

Viewers were left horrified by the graphic images.

“This makes me sick to my stomach,” one woman said.

“A person that does this to a bird is bound to do something to a person, or some larger animals,” a second person chimed in.

It is unknown if the incident has been reported to NSW Police.
