Senator Hanson revealed on Wednesday she was recovering in hospital after an emergency operation to remove her appendix.

A picture was shared to her Facebook page of the 64-year-old wearing a white hospital gown, seated on a hospital bed, telling her supporters she had felt “extraordinarily unwell” at the weekend.
