Disgruntled girlfriend leaks explicit text messages between MPs
A NSW state government minister, a member of parliament and one of the Prime Minister's staff members have all been caught up in a sex scandal played out on social media.
It all began with an Instagram post, in which Fair Trading Minister Matt Kean is pictured holding a red rose and warning consumers to beware of love scammers.
His on-again, off-again girlfriend Caitlin Keage initially liked the post, writing: "Lucky for me, Matt Kean follows his own advice."
But on Friday the jilted government staffer clearly "disliked" the photo - and the Minister - claiming he'd cheated on her.
Ms Keage, who works for Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, told the world so via social media, posting an explosive and explicit text exchange between Kean and another government MP.
Hacked from his phone through a laptop, the message read: "Really need to f**k you".
His colleague replied, "LOL you have CK for that", to which Kean replied: "Is that a no?"
Mr Kean, his texting colleague, and his former girlfriend all went to ground on Friday.
Even the Opposition wouldn't comment on a deeply personal matter.
The only person pouring fuel on the fire was Mr Kean's close friend and ally, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian.
Speaking from Washington DC, she said she was "deeply disappointed" by the scandal but would not be taking any action, as the matter did not "interfere with his official ministerial duties".
Late on Friday the female MP texted by Mr Kean denied she was having an affair with the Minister.
