Charges after six-week investigation into police hit-and-run in Sydney

A man accused of driving into a police officer and fleeing the scene is set to face a Sydney court.

Police say the 22-year-old man was arrested at a home in Greystanes on Saturday morning, six weeks after the alleged incident in Greenacre.

He was allegedly caught driving at 121km/h in a 70 zone before hitting a senior constable who ordered the driver pull over.

The man was charged with nine offences including failing to stop and assist after a collision, and making a false statement to police.

He was refused bail and is set to face Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.

His licence was also suspended.

The police officer spent 24 hours in hospital for soft tissue injuries to his hands and legs following the September 5 incident.
