More bones turned up a week after search for murder victim Lateesha Nolan wrapped up

The father of Malcolm Naden's murder victim Lateesha Nolan has found more bones only days after police wound up their second search for her remains.

Mick Peet hopes the search of the Dubbo riverbank will now resume following his unexpected discovery.

"It would be good to find a bit more," he told 7 News.

Somehow tasks like this have become easier for the victim's father.

Ever since he lost his daughter to a cold-blooded killer he's been determined to find and bury her body.

On Sunday he told detectives he found more bones just metres from where police concluded their final search last week.

"I was just looking along the banks of the river and I just saw a little notch of a bone sticking out and I pulled it out and it was a fairly long bone," he said.

"I've got a lot of friends and support out here at Dubbo... A lot of friends and that and I'm really hoping some more of Lateesha will turn up."

A member of the public found a bone south of Dubbo last month.

DNA testing confirmed it belonged to the 24-year-old mother, prompting a new search at Butlers Falls.

Detectives found skeletal fragments last week which are undergoing tests to determine if they also belong to the murdered woman.

Ms Nolan was strangled by her cousin Malcolm Naden in 2005, leading detectives to Butlers Falls soon after his capture in 2012, after seven years on the run.

He confessed to strangling and dismembering the young mum's body as well as murdering Kristy Scholes.

Lateesha Nolan's family say at least her children have somewhere to go to pay their respects.

"I don't know what's going to be the results of these bones but and there might be more searches out here now and I'd really like to see that happen," Mr Peet said.
