Video surfaced of Sydney councillor Salim Mehajer kissing another woman amid rumours of his failing marriage
Controversial Sydney councillor Salim Mehajer has hit back at the media amid speculations of his tumultuous relationship with wife Ayysha.
Mr Mehajer, who was Deputy Mayor of western Sydney’s Auburn Council until all the councillors were sacked in February, took to social media on Wednesday night to defend his relationship.
He told media not question his marriage based on “old photos”, after a cheesy video featuring himself getting cozy with another woman surfaced, who shared a striking resemblance to Mr Mehajer’s wife Aysha.
Some images in the video slideshow bear a date of November 2014, just nine months before the Mehajers wed last August, with a lavish celebration that closed down an entire street to accommodate fast cars and helicopters.

The video of the couple kissing and cuddling was believed to be circulated online the day after the Mehajer wedding between people who knew the groom.
It is believed the mystery woman in the video was employed by one of Mr Mehajer’s companies.
With speculation rife of the Mehajers’ marriage being on the rocks, Mr Mehajer, has been busy posting pictures of himself with his wife on social media, but none seem to be new.
Last week, Mr Mehajer held an extravagant $50,000 30th birthday party for his estranged wife, attended by US musicians Tyga and Omarion. But the birthday girl seemed to be missing at her own party.
It has been reported Aysha she has not been seen at the pair’s home for some time and has been using her maiden name Learmonth.
Mehajer later shared a photo of himself with the two super stars, accompanied with a birthday message for his wife, Aysha.
“Happy birthday to my beautiful wife, Aysha. Just the beginning to an eventful week. Love you dearly, forever and ever. -Ft Tyga & Omarion,” the Facebook post read.
On his Facebook page Wednesday night Mr Mehajer posted a picture of his wedding day, with Aysha beside him.
“Dear media, Don’t judge me based on old photos. Only God and indeed death can do us apart, ” the caption read.
