Teen loses ear in dog attack

Surgeons are working to reattach a 19-year-old man’s ear after it was severed during a dog attack in south-west Sydney.

The teen was walking his dog at East Hills, around 3.20pm this afternoon, when he was set upon by two pitbulls.

He tried to save his own pet when the two dogs started attacking his legs, and he dropped to the ground.

The dogs attacked his head, and bit off his left ear before local residents came to the man’s rescue, causing the dogs flee.

Paramedics treated the man before he was rushed to Liverpool Hospital.

The two pitbulls terriers have been captured, and their owner is speaking to police.
