Newsagent sells two winning Lotto tickets in consecutive weeks
One lottery store in Western Australia is on a winning streak, after the store sold two first prize tickets in the past two weeks.
Two Saturday Lotto Division One tickets were sold at Carramar Lottery Centre and News in the Perth suburb of Morley, just one week apart.
Two of the three Division One winners in the Saturday draw on the weekend were from Western Australia, according to Lotterywest, with the winners taking home more than $1.6 million each. One ticket was bought at the Carramar shop and the other at Woodvale Boulevard News.
A week earlier a couple who had bought a ticket at the Carramar Lottery Centre won $866,700 in Saturday Lotto.
That couple revealed they entered the draw after a clairvoyant said they would come into some money, around $500,000 to $600,000. However, the psychic was $266,700 off.
“I always thought if we won it would be high fives and champagne, but instead we sat there like stunned mullets,” the winning couple said at the time.
Milan Gohil from Carramar Lottery Centre and News said he was ecstatic his store had sold the winning ticket again.
“It’s just luck and the goodwill of the customers,” Mr Gohil said.
“I saw a few new faces after the previous draw, so I hope their decision to try out our store will have a good impact for them.”

A spokesperson for Lotterywest admitted it was unusual to have two winning Division One tickets sold at the same store, in the same week.
“Every week we welcome Division One winners into our Winners Room, but it’s very unusual to have the same store sell two Division One tickets in the space of a week,” James Mooney said.
“So far this year we have celebrated six WA Division One prizes and we’re only in January.”
Earlier this year, a West Australian tradesman discovered he had a winning lottery ticket sitting in his car’s glovebox for almost a month.
