Adelaide student's subdued reaction to huge Lotto win

An Adelaide student in his mid-20s has kicked off the New Year as a newly-crowned millionaire.

The man was one of three division one winning entries from the Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw.

He said he had a “very sleepless night” after learning of his enormous $1million win and is still letting it “sink in”.

“Immediately after I won, I had a beer to celebrate but didn’t do anything else,” he said.

“It’s crazy to think I’ll start the year a millionaire. What a great start to the year.”

“I always said this year was going to be my year, but I never thought it would happen on this scale.”

When asked how he plans on spending his million, the student said he will use some of it to buy a car.

“It’s come at a great time for my studies,” he said.

“I’ve been given a placement but I wasn’t sure how I was going to get there because I don’t have a car.

“Now I can get a car which will make it easier for me to finish my degree.”

He added he will place the rest of the money into savings and possibly taking a gap year after finishing his studies.

Wednesday night’s winning numbers were 23, 24, 37, 25, 20 and 43 while the supplementary numbers were 33 and 18.
