Mum claims daughter, 10, 'strung up by neck with skipping rope'

A Perth mum claims her little girl was left traumatised after being allegedly strung her up by her neck with a skipping rope.

Amber Yoon, 10, was born with a hole in her heart and her oesophagus disconnected from her stomach.

But now her mother claims her daughter was a victim of a violent act of bullying at Queen of Apostles Primary School, in the southern Perth suburb of Riverton, last week and wants those responsible to be suspended.

Belinda Yoon alleges a skipping rope was wrapped around her daughter’s neck before being hung from a tree.

The mum claims her daughter’s toes were just touching the ground and she could not breathe.

She also believes Amber could have died if a teacher did not intervene.

“What happened that day could easily have had a very different ending and we’d be telling an even sadder story,” Ms Yoon said.

Catholic Education Western Australia is now liaising with police who are investigating the mother’s claims.

But Amber’s mum claims her 10-year-old is suffering from anxiety due to the bullying and has had to have counselling following the latest alleged attack.
