More than 20 test positive for Covid on ship at WA port

Twenty-four members on board a live export ship off the coast of WA have tested positive for coronavirus.

WA Premier Mark McGowan told reporters on Monday although there have been zero new cases of Covid-19 reported in the state in the past 24 hours, 24 members on board the Al Messilah have tested positive.

Al Messilah is currently docked at Fremantle port.

“These 24 cases numbers will be included in the official numbers tomorrow,” Mr McGowan said.

He added there could be more positive cases on board the ship given 52 were on it.

One already tested positive to the virus over the weekend.

More to come.
