Man dies after getting stuck in a shipping container

A man has died after being trapped in a shipping container in Melbourne.

Police believe stone sheets shifted in the container, trapping the man at GKA Sports Distribution Centre in Campbellfield just after 10am on Thursday.

Emergency services attempted to free the man, who is yet to be identified, but he died at the scene.

A second man is in hospital under observation.

Worksafe has been notified and is on scene. Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
