Meghan Markle's LA glam squad has been revealed following her Ellen DeGeneres appearance

Watch: Meghan Markle appears on The Ellen Show

Meghan Markle's LA's glam squad has been revealed following her appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Dressed in a white £1,991 Oscar De La Renta blouse and black tailored trousers, the Duchess of Sussex looked immaculate in a sneak-peek teaser clip released ahead of the official showing of the interview on US television on Thursday.

Though her glamorous appearance isn't unusual, it seems she had a little help in getting ready from her trusted team of make-up artists and hair stylists.

Her longtime friend and celebrity make-up artist, Daniel Martin, helped perfect her beauty look, while hairstylist Jason Low added the finishing touches to her hair.

"We were backstage the entire time," Martin told People magazine. "It's really fun and Ellen really pulled out Meghan's goofy, funny side, which everyone will be able to finally see."

Martin also shared an excerpt of Markle's chat with the host to Instagram while revealing in the caption that he had applied Meghan's makeup.

"SURPRISE! My love on @theellenshowTomorrow!!!" he wrote before also crediting her hairdressing team: Jason Low and the Highbrow Hippie salon.

Markle's make-up featured her trademark dewy skin, with a neutral toned lip and soft, smoky eyes, while her hair was styled in glossy, loose waves.

Who are the Duchess' LA glam squad?

Daniel Martin is a renowned make-up artist and global director of artistry and education for Tatcha, who works with Bella Hadid, Jessica Alba, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Gemma Chan, and first met the Duchess back in 2011 in New York.

Martin has previously revealed that the pair instantly connected, and he quickly became her go-to make-up artist for press tours and photo shoots, and was responsible for Markle's incredible glowing skin for her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.

Recalling the moment the bride walked down the aisle solo until she was met by Prince Charles, the beauty guru previously said: "The doors open up and I'm standing in the back, and I just see her come down. I mean, I just saw how strong and poised she was."

Despite becoming known as the artist largely responsible for Markle's make-up looks, Martin says he really doesn't mind being solely known for his association with the Duchess of Sussex because the pair have a genuine personal relationship.

“I’m always going to be Meghan Markle’s makeup artist for the rest of my life," he told People."Which is totally fine because we’re friends. I think if we didn’t have a personal connection, it would definitely be different.”

Though he believes there will always be a tie-in with the duchess, he doesn't see it as a bad thing.

"At the end of the day, I was my own person before that," he adds. "I have been very fortunate too. My career evolved from that as well. It is what it is. It's not about the association. I'm just grateful that there's still a personal tie to the person at the end of the day."

Martin recently revealed the eyeliner trick he used while doing the royal's make-up for the 2021 Salute to Freedom gala at the Intrepid Museum in New York City earlier this month.

To go alongside her sleek up-do, Martin says he "wanted to create this symmetry with her eyeliner — up and back", despite her being "a bit apprehensive."

"I wanted an Audrey Hepburn-inspired eye without it being harsh with black, so I used purple," Martin said. "I just love purple and red together."

Joining the beauty squad for this particular occasion was hairstylist Serge Normant, who was behind Meghan's effortless messy bun when she tied the knot.

Speaking about getting Markle event-ready, Martin went on, "It was so much fun to have all of us back together again. It was chill and relaxed, like the gang was back together.

"Harry jokes around a lot, and Meghan is really funny. It was nice to have those belly laughs again!"

He adds, "Serge said it took us back to their wedding day, which was the last time the three of us were together."

As well as working with Markle, hair stylist Jason Low has worked with Bryce Dallas Howard and has previously spoken out about his love of working with her.

In a sweet message for her 40th birthday earlier this year he wrote that it has been a "privilege" to work with the royal.

"I’ve been so fortunate to work with incredibly strong, intelligent and inspiring women throughout my career- without a doubt, Meghan is one of them," he wrote in a caption on Instagram.

"It has been such a privilege working with her this past year, watching her create ways to not only uplift others but also incite positive change in our world."

The Highbrow Hippie salon, which also played a role in Markle's glam look for her interview with Ellen DeGeneres, also counts Julia Roberts, Elle Fanning and Kirsten Dunst among its high-profile clientele.

Markle's interview with DeGeneres marks her first daytime talk show appearance since she married Prince Harry and joined the royal family.

Earlier this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a candid chat about their decision to step back from their roles as working royals and their new life in California.

But the tone of this second interview was far more upbeat with the Duchess going on to describe parenting issues with Lilibet's teething and discussing the couple's decision to leave royal duties and move to Montecito.

The pair now run the Archewell foundation and according to Markle are "just happy" with life.
