McDonald's brings back two popular menu items and launches new dessert range

McDonald's is bringing back one of its most popular burgers, along with the return of a much-loved snack and two new desserts.

Following a short hiatus from its menu, the much-requested Mighty Angus will return to Macca's menus across Australia from Wednesday for a limited time.

The burger consists of two 100 per cent Aussie Angus Beef patties, cheese, bacon, red onion, chunky tomato relish and Macca's signature McChicken sauce between two gourmet buns.

Due to popular demand, McDonald's is also bringing back a fan-favourite snack: Mozzarella Sticks with Chunky Tomato Relish.

New desserts on the menu

As a cherry on top of the latest announcement, Macca's is also launching two desserts for the first time ever – the Crème Brulée McFlurry and Crème Brulée Pie.

Featuring McDonald's iconic soft serve ice cream, these desserts combine pie pastry with smooth crème custard and burnt caramel fillings.

Macca's gives customers a reason to 'cosy up this winter'

"Macca's is giving us another reason to get the gang together and cosy up this winter with delicious new and returning menu items," Tim Kenward, McDonald's Marketing Director, said.

"Our winter menu includes the iconic Mighty Angus, one of our customers' most requested items, a brand-new range of desserts featuring Crème Brulée flavours, and Mozzarella Sticks for the snack lovers."

The new and returning menu items will be available across Macca's restaurants nationwide, including via the MyMacca's app and McDelivery, from Wednesday for a limited time.

Macca's announces long-awaited McPlant burger

Meanwhile, Macca's has announced the launch of the long-awaited McPlant burger in Victorian stores.

From Wednesday, Victorians will be able to order the meat-free burger which was co-developed with Beyond Meat and is made with a plant-based patty made from peas, rice, potatoes, and beetroot.

The meat-free patty is served on a sesame seed bun, with tomato, lettuce, pickles, onions, mayonnaise-style sauce, ketchup, mustard and a slice of American cheese.

The McPlant will be rolled out to 270 Macca's restaurants across Victoria as part of a trial until November 1.
