'Unbelievable': Woolworths blasted for 'disgraceful' grocery delivery

On arrival home from an overseas holiday, a man has been greeted with the most unpleasant of surprises – his pre-ordered groceries sprawled out on his front porch.

Dan Farthing had arranged for his Woolworths order to be delivered about the same time he arrived back from his trip, but was not prepared for the mess he would come home to.

He photographed the shambles and shared it in a scathing post to the supermarket’s Facebook page.

“Organised online delivery for our arrival home from an overseas trip and found this left at the door,” he wrote to the social media site on Sunday.

“Cheers Woolworths!! Won’t be shopping with you again!.”

In a comment to the post, Mr Farthing added that he had “left authority for them to leave it at the door and that’s how they left it”.

He also claimed no one had touched the shopping other than the delivery driver, who drove out of the driveway just as a friend of his arrived at his house.

“Our mate arrived as the driver was driving out of the driveway and that’s how she found it. Unbelievable,” he said.

In the photo, items requiring refrigeration were pictured scattered on the ground including milk, meat, fruit and yoghurt.

A social media user commented on the post suggesting the items were left in such a state because Mr Farthing had selected a “no bags” option when placing the order.

They added that it was still unacceptable and staff “could’ve given you boxes or something”.

Another described the act as “disgraceful” and thought perhaps the driver had arrived sooner than Mr Fathing had requested.

A Woolworths employee responded to the post in a comment, saying they too were unimpressed with how the delivery had been carried out.

“We're very disappointed to see how your online order has been delivered and left at the door,” the comment read.

The employee said to raise the issue with “relevant teams” they required details to verify his online account.

Yahoo News Australia has contacted Woolworths for comment on the matter.

Earlier this month a Woolworths delivery truck was caught on camera parked in a non-parking zone and blocking two disability permitted vans.
