Man seriously injured after falling under Brisbane train
A man is recovering in hospital this morning with serious leg injuries, after he fell under a train in Brisbane’s north.
It is believed the man, aged in his 40s, became disoriented and stumbled on the platform before falling onto a track at Virginia Station, about 4.13pm Wednesday.
The train driver was quick to brake, but the man’s legs were clipped.
It almost 45 minutes and a team of 25 firefighters to free him.

A 50-tonne jack was used to lift the train and free the man.
The Queensland Ambulance Service said the man was transported to Royal Brisbane Hospital and is in a serious but stable condition, with a lower leg injury.

The incident caused chaos on the city’s rail network, with the Sunshine Coast, Caboolture and Redcliffe Peninsula line services suspended between Northgate and Bald Hills as emergency services attended the incident.
