Man with gun tattoo on his head charged with firearm possession

A man with a tattoo of a handgun in the middle of his head has been charged with unlawful carrying of a loaded firearm, despite being forbidden to carry one.

Michael Vines, who has a large tattoo of a gun above his left eye, extending down between his eyebrows, was arrested for unlawful carrying of a firearm, among other charges.

The man, from the US state of South Carolina, tried to discard a loaded Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver after he was involved in a car crash, Greenville Police allege.

The inked man allegedly threw the weapon into the grass near the crash site, but firefighters at the scene saw and alerted police.

Vines has been charged with driving under a suspended licence, driving too fast for conditions, and unlawful carrying of a firearm.

Sharing the news of the man’s arrest on Facebook, local police added: “The real weapon was placed in property and evidence.”
