KFC staff seen licking food in viral video: 'DIRTY'
A group of young KFC workers have filmed themselves handling and licking food while working in a now-viral video on TikTok.
The footage was shared by a young Brisbane woman who is shown putting her mouth to a tray of chicken before erupting into laughter.
Some people have called for the staff to be fired after seeing what goes on in the store, believed to be in Brisbane.
Workers lick and throw food
"POV closing time," the video is captioned and shows at least four KFC workers grabbing fistfuls of chicken, throwing chips and eating lettuce from its container.
It starts with one worker showing off a tray of cooked chicken, but then it cuts to him munching on at least two pieces.
Another girl brings her mouth directly to the chicken laid out on the tray as more chicken appears to be thrown at her.
It then cuts to another two workers, one with his tongue out licking chips as they appear to be dropped or thrown from above.
At one point, one worker picks up a handful of lettuce and bites into it before letting it fall back into its container.
Calls for staff to be fired
The video racked up thousands of views from people with some concerned about the hygiene practices shown.
One person said they will "send this to head office" while others called for them to be fired.
"Did somebody say your (sic) fired," one said.
"Is this what you were doing when I waited an hour for my food?" someone else questioned, while another labelled the behaviour as "dirty".
Some defend staff actions
But some didn't seem too bothered by the video and argued that "it was closing time" implying that the food won't get sold to customers.
Many said that workers are allowed to take food home or eat it otherwise it goes to waste.
"Pretty sure they do that cus (sic) they gonna need to throw the food out anyway," one suggested.
KFC declined to comment when contacted by Yahoo News Australia.
