'Few jumpers' worth': Sheep with truly massive coat stuns online

Images of a sheep with a truly massive coat have stunned social media users.

The amazing pictures were uploaded to the One Day Closer to Rain (Drought) Facebook group, and it is hard to believe there is an animal under all of its fleece.

According to Graeme Bowden’s post, his friend spotted the sheep running with a goat near Warrumbungle’s in New South Wales, so they caught it and took it to be groomed.

Mr Bowden wrote: “Took all our strength to get him on the quad to bring him back to civilisation and then had to shear him”.

“He cut 30 kilograms of wool which was 13 inches long and I think it’s the third biggest in the world, anyway he’s light footed now.”

One person who commented on the post estimated that 13 inches would be around three years of growth.

“Few jumpers’ worth in that one!” said another user.

Social media users were stunned by the snaps and acknowledged how much effort it must have taken to shear the sheep.

“That’s an impressive fleece, he must feel so much better – good effort getting that fleece off!” one person said.

Lucky boy to have someone take the time to catch him and shear him. Well done,” another said.

“I bet he jumped around when that weight was gone,” added another person.
