James Corden’s 'Carpool Karaoke' to return after two-year break during pandemic

The Late Late Show which Corden hosts tweeted on Friday to confirm that the popular singalong segment was back on after two years of having to social distance and at one point singing being banned to curb the spread of coronavirus, making sitting in a confined space impossible.

One Direction star and close friend of Corden Niall Horan was the last star to appear on Carpool Karaoke, back in March 2020 just before lockdown restrictions came in.
Celebrities who have starred in the show with Corden have included Ed Sheeran, Adele, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Paul McCartney and Billie Eilish.
In this week's Late Late Show, Corden mocked the Oscars controversy which saw Will Smith get up on stage and slap comedian Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith's alopecia.
Smith, who went on to be named Best Actor at the awards, then shouted at Rock from the audience to "keep my wife's name out your f***ing mouth".
Corden turned to his musical performance roots to poke fun at the situation in a skit that saw the programme's team discussing how to cover the Oscars.
He said: "We don't talk about Jada. No, no, no," before breaking into song and changing the lyrics to We Don't Talk About Bruno from the Best Animated Film winner Encanto.
