Hunt on for killer after 19-year-old woman fatally stabbed at Melbourne party
A community is in mourning following the stabbing death of 19-year-old Melbourne woman on Saturday night.
Laa Chol died after reportedly being stabbed during a party in EQ Tower. Its residents have complained about “increasing parties” in the apartment building.
Ms Chol’s parents are South Sudanese, and deny their daughter had links to ‘so-called gangs’.
Shocked friends have remembered Ms Chol as a quiet person “not known for causing trouble”.
One neighbour, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told reporters she heard “horrendous screaming” coming from the building in the early hours of Saturday morning.
