Intruder shot by dad in 13-year-old girl's bedroom stabs himself to death
A home invasion took a chilling twist after the intruder stabbed himself when a father caught him in his 13-year-old daughter’s bedroom.
Police say the man was caught in the home in Houston in the US state of Texas in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Authorities told reporters after the incident that the father had found the intruder in his daughter’s bedroom with a gun before wrestling it off him.
It is believed the father then shot the suspect before the intruder stumbled downstairs and then stabbed himself.
According to local news station KHOU11, the man was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
An autopsy will reveal the suspect’s ultimate cause of death and police believe the Houston family had been randomly targeted.
