Horrifying moment man leaps across bench to viciously attack judge
The extraordinary vision has shocked people all over the world.
Disturbing footage has emerged of the moment a man evaded security and leapt across a judge's bench as she read out his prison sentence, brutally attacking her while court officers scramble to help.
The shocking incident occurred on Wednesday, January 3 (local time) at Clark County District Court in Nevada in the US, as Judge Mary Kay Holthus sentenced Deobra Delone Redden for aggravated battery with substantial bodily harm. Redden had previously pleaded guilty to the offences in a prior hearing.
In the footage, Holthus can be heard denying Redden's request for probation due to his prior convictions and criminal history.

She is heard preparing to sentence him to prison time, seemingly responding to Redden's lawyer. In cut off footage she can be heard saying: "I can appreciate that, but I think it's time he gets a taste of something else, because I just can't with that history..." before she's swiftly ambushed.
Redden's voice can then be heard over the top of Holthus's, screaming "no — f**k that bitch" before he leaps across the Las Vegas courtroom, taking guards, the judge, and other staff by surprise.
In extraordinary vision, a struggle can be seen taking place behind the judge's bench, as her screams reverberate throughout the courtroom. Four men — a mix of security and court personnel — attempt to restrain the man, seemingly to no avail.
Brutal struggle ensues
During the ordeal, both the American and Nevada flags, that had stood behind Holthus, are brought to the ground. "Please, please. Don't do this!" a woman's voice can be heard yelling throughout the struggle.
Redden can then be heard repeatedly punching Holthus and yelling expletives, before eventually he is restrained. According to the Las Vegas District Court, Holthus experienced "some injuries" and her condition "is being monitored", though the extent of the wounds is unclear.
The marshal sustained injuries and was hospitalised. It's expected now that Redden will face further charges in addition to his previous sentencing.
"We commend the heroic acts of her staff, law enforcement, and all others who subdued the defendant," the court said in a statement. "[We] remain committed to a safe and secure courthouse and courtrooms. We are reviewing all our protocols and will do whatever is necessary to protect the judiciary, the public, and our employees."
