'Never seen such horrific damage': Gold Coast house cat 'sexually assaulted'

WARNING - DISTRESSING CONTENT: A Gold Coast family is mortified by injuries their cat suffered claiming he was sexually assaulted.

Donkey the cat, who lives in Coomera, was found with horrific injuries earlier this week.

Luke Pocock, whose parents own Donkey, wrote on a GoFundMe page the cat suffered internal bleeding from a “scumbag”.

“The nurse and vet had never seen such horrific damage,” he wrote.

“Please help us so that we can pay its vet bills. The cat will have to attend the vet every two days as the damage was so severe.”

Mr Pocock added Donkey was adopted from an animal shelter eight years ago.

“My parents brought it into their lives and spent so much time with it,” he wrote.

“It is now a lovely cat and is great and friendly with all people. Let’s hope this act of violence doesn’t undo eight years of loving work.”

Kasey Vessey, who knows the family, told the Gold Coast Bulletin vets informed them the injuries Donkey suffered didn’t come from another animal.

“Out vet (said) this was human activity using something to penetrate the cat’s bottom,” Ms Vessey told the Bulletin.

Queensland Police and RSPCA Queensland have been contacted for comment.
