Girl, 13, charged after video emerges of vicious school attack

WARNING, DISTRESSING CONTENT: A 13-year-old schoolgirl has been charged over a vicious schoolyard attack recorded on video.

Mobile phone footage shows a young girl being pushed down a stairwell into a wall of a school building.

The video filmed at Bega on the NSW Far South Coast shows the victim being kicked and punched as she lay on the ground, then dragged by the hair and kicked again.

NSW Police confirmed a 13-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted by another teenage girl at a school in Bega, about 1.40pm on Tuesday.

The young girl was taken to the South East Regional Hospital Bega with serious head injuries.

About 4.50pm, the injured girl and her mother reported the incident to officers from South Coast Police District.

Following inquiries, a 13-year-old girl was arrested at Bega Police Station.

The alleged attacker has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and stalking/intimidating intending fear or physical harm.

She was granted conditional bail and will appear at the Bega Children’s Court next month.
