Furious locals cover Porsche in rubbish over illegal parking act

When the driver returned to the A$135,034 vehicle, he found the roof and the bonnet had been completely buried in smelly trash.

The moment a selfish Porsche driver got a taste of instant justice when his luxury SUV was reportedly covered in trash by furious locals has been captured on camera.

The driver — who has not been named by local media — parked in a space reserved for firetrucks in the district of Bishan, in Chongqing, south-western China. But when he returned to the A$135,034 vehicle, he found the roof and the bonnet had been completely buried in smelly rubbish.

Phone footage — shared later on Douyin, China's version of TikTok — shows the black SUV covered by piles of trash, apparently from city garbage bins. On the ground below, a large yellow grid can be seen that reads (in Chinese): "Fire exit, no occupation."

A second clip shows the shamed owner trying to sweep away the trash with a giant mop while others look on laughing. Even a pair of police officers can be seen in the background in hi-viz jackets apparently joking with each other.

'Hating the rich'

Nearby shop owners claimed they did not see who trashed the vehicle, but city garbage collectors were reportedly cleared of all suspicion. Police reportedly got involved in the incident but it is unclear how the matter was ultimately resolved.

Locals have raised concerns about cars being parked in spots reserved for fire engines, saying it could significantly hinder traffic in the case of emergencies.

While numerous Douyin users claimed that both the driver and the perpetrator had to take responsibility for their actions. "This approach is wrong. There are tens of thousands of ways to solve disorderly parking," one person wrote. "Using this way of hating the rich to solve it shows that the mentality of Chongqing people is not good now."

Last year, a Mercedes driver was blasted for their parking job at the Melbourne zoo. Another visitor spotted the black luxury car parked on a zebra crossing outside the popular tourist attraction in September.
