Woman filmed putting 'emaciated' dog in boot of car

A woman has been filmed putting an emaciated dog into the boot of her car.

Sara Perry was arrested on Thursday after she was caught on CCTV at the Central Brevard Humane Society in Orlando, Florida, taking the dog, Neptune, out of the boot and then putting him back in several minutes later.

Perry told investigators she was unable to provide food for Neptune and wanted to drop the dog off at the Humane Society centre, but she was turned away.

It was also 32C on Thursday.

The dog was taken to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Animal Care Center where a veterinarian examined him and concluded he had severe malnutrition.

Neptune is pictured looking severely underweight. His owner Sara Perry was charged after she was filmed appearing to place her dog in the boot of her car.
