When fire crews inspected the home, they were amazed to see the fire’s spread was stopped at writing on wall studs around the home.

“The home is obviously a complete loss,” The Livingston Parish Fire Protection District 2 wrote on Facebook.

“What caught our eyes was that the homeowners had written scriptures on wall studs through the house.

“The fire stopped at the scriptures!!”

The fire department shared a number of photos of the blaze, the aftermath and the bible verses written on the walls which were spared.

At least one pet bird died in the fire, according to WAFB9, and the family spent the following day looking for their other pets who may have made it out of the home alive.

According to the news station, the fire started at 7pm on Sunday night and was burning until midnight.

Seven people were in the home at the time and investigators are working to determine how the fire started, however, the family believes the fire started due to electrical issues and the mother and father reportedly heard a popping sound coming from the garage, which was engulfed in flames when they investigated.

The family told WAFB9 they asked friends and family to “bless” their home by writing bible verses on the wall studs.

The quotes are bible verses from Matthew, Psalms and Romans.

“Wow. This brought tears of joy instantly to my eyes. And my heart raced like I just ran a marathon. Our Lord God, Heavenly Father is SO amazing,” one woman wrote, “encouraging” people to join the “heavenly realms that our Lord has offered”.

“Our God is Amazing so people need to see this because our God is a Great God and so sorry for their loss,” another person said.

Surprisingly, many neglected to send their thoughts and prayers to the family.

Last year a fire devastated a church in Virginia, however the bibles were spared.

“Though odds were against us, God was not,” the fire department wrote at the time.

The department shared photos of the damage with one picture showing more than 10 intact bibles.

All the crosses were also unscathed.
