MAFS star Daniel Holmes has left his followers worried after sharing a message about his mental health on Friday.

The 31-year-old shared the message to his Instagram Stories, saying he felt 'lost, lonely, scared', leaving some people to think something had happened between him and his girlfriend Carolina Santos.

"I'm not okay," he wrote. "I cry every day, I'm lost, I'm lonely, I'm scared."

He added that he feels "immense pressure" and doesn't trust anyone.

"I fail, then fail again, the ones I love hurt me, I hurt them back, I'm sorry."

A few hours later, he updated fans and apologised, writing, "I'm sorry about my story today. I've struggled with my mental [health] for years, but particularly the last six months."

Daniel added, "[Today] was a breaking point for me and a level I never want to get to again and would rather forget.

"I'm only human. I'm home now and have Carolina with me and tomorrow's a new day. Love everyone and I see the [messages], love you."

Fans commented on his most recent Instagram post, sharing their support with one user writing, "Hope you are OK buddy."

"As challenging as mental health can be @_danielholmes_ we are on this planet to learn," another said. "This process will make you even stronger, just don’t fight it. Allow it for what it is and trust in your capabilities to see it through. Wish you & Carolina all the best."

Daniel and Carolina on the viewers' reactions

Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle earlier this year, Daniel and Carolina shared what the viewer reaction was like to them after being on the show and cheating on the partners they were initially coupled with.

"People are really nice on the streets, it’s mainly on social media [that people are rude]," Carolina said.

"But I've seen a massive turnaround in the comments, that's for sure," Daniel said, with Carolina adding, "I think because we're still together, so people are starting to go like, 'Okay, well it's not too bad, they’re still together, it was real'."
