A London drug runner caught with a ball of heroin in his underwear at Euston station has been jailed for four years.

Gary Morrison, 24, appeared at Inner London Crown Court on December 21 where he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Earlier this month, he was sentenced to four years behind bars and ordered to pay a £190 victim surcharge.

Morrison, of Brixton Hill, was spotted by plainclothes police officers as he walked around Euston before rushing to a platform for a train.

His behaviour led to him being stopped by officers, and Morrison pulled out a small amount of cannabis from his underwear.

The court heard how, a short while later, he also pulled out a golf ball-sized wrap of heroin from underneath his trousers.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and being in possession of Class B drugs and taken to police custody.

As he was being escorted to custody, he remarked: “I was carrying it for someone else”.

Analysis of the 22-gram ball of drugs found in Morrison’s underwear revealed it was heroin, with an estimated street value of £3,000.

British Transport Police Detective Inspector Graham Moss said: “Morrison’s shifty behaviour came to the attention of our eagle-eyed officers in plain clothes who followed their instincts and stopped him before he embarked on his journey.

“Their work has resulted in a harmful Class A drug out of circulation and a drug runner behind bars rethinking his criminal activity.”
