Dramatic moment boy run over before bystanders' heroic act
A schoolboy has been saved by heroic bystanders after he was run over by a car and became trapped underneath.
Distressing CCTV footage from China shows the boy running across a side street as a white SUV was entering, before being struck by the car.
The child falls to the ground and disappears underneath the vehicle before it eventually comes to a halt with him under the car.
A distressed man runs towards the car, frantically tapping the window before falling to the ground to check the boy.
Within seconds, dozens of bystanders rush over to the vehicle and attempt to the lift the car off the boy.
They successfully manage to lift the rear of the vehicle before the boy is pulled free.
Remarkably the boy suffered only minor abrasions, Xuánwō Video reported.
Local police in the city of Kaili in China's Guizhou province revealed neither party had called police in the wake of the incident on Wednesday morning.
The video was shared widely on Chinese social media site Weibo, prompting a wave of comments from stunned users who were shocked the boy's injuries weren't more severe.
Many users sympathised with the driver, saying they weren't at fault.
