Vegan customer disgusted over 'dirty' find inside Domino's kitchen

A Domino’s customer ordering a vegan pizza from the restaurant has been left disgusted after claiming the store’s workspace was covered in meat, including cross-contamination in the vegetarian toppings.

Tahneeia Manukia, who lives on the Gold Coast, took to Facebook with photos on Friday.

“This is where the so called vegan pizza is prepared,” Ms Manukia wrote. “Look at all the meat all the way through all of the vegetable toppings.

“The girl who prepared said pizza did so with meat all over her gloves.”

Ms Manukia added “it’s annoying” ordering vegan pizzas from the restaurant.

“Don’t say you make vegan pizza because clearly you don’t,” she wrote.

Many Facebook users encouraged her to make an official complaint, although it’s not clear if she has.

Others were just as sickened by the photos.

“Wow! I would have asked for my money back,” one woman wrote.

Another woman labelled the workstation “dirty”.

Ms Manukia called it “pure filth”.

A Domino’s spokesperson told Yahoo News Australia the woman received an apology and a replacement meal.

“All of our stores meet the highest food safety standards, including those established by local councils,” the spokesperson said.

“The photograph captures a moment in time on one of our store’s busiest nights of the year, which we accept does not reflect positively on the hard work and customer service our team members aim to deliver every day.

“We are proud of the work we have done to provide more choice to all customers, including vegetarian and vegan customers, and this will be an important learning opportunity for all team members.”
