Dog walker finds missing man ALIVE in a drain

A man has been found disoriented and hypothermic lying in a drain about 36 hours after he was reported missing.

Brian Adamson, 63, left his home on Day Street, Warilla, on Monday evening before being seen at 8.15pm walking along Sandpiper Close in Albion Park Rail.

The following morning another sighting was reported near the Warilla Grove Shopping Centre in the Illawarra region, south of Sydney, police said in a statement.

Mr Adamson was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt and shorts with one black shoe and a pair of glasses with a lens missing.

Just before 9.30am on Wednesday morning, a person walking their dog found Mr Adamson lying in a drain on Airport Road in Albion Park Rail, about 10km away from his home.

Two paramedic crews arrived on scene and assessed him, before transporting him to Wollongong Hospital in a serious condition.

“When we arrived it was clear this patient had spent some time exposed to the elements and was in a hypothermic state,” Inspector Matthew Sterling from NSW Ambulance said.

“He had suffered several cuts and bruises, and appeared disoriented.

“Paramedics worked to stabilise the patient before transporting him to Wollongong hospital for further treatment.”
