Disturbing theory after Aussie mum wakes up to 'intruder staring at her'

One disturbing theory has arisen online after a manhole inside her garage was found partially open.

An Aussie mother and influencer says she woke up to an intruder "staring" at her from the door of her bedroom in what was the most terrifying moment of her life — leading many to theorise that she may have someone secretly living above her garage.

Chloe Dillon revealed that she, her husband and her two children were at their Queensland home on Friday, December 29 when she woke and saw the "silhouette" of a man looking at her sleeping. Her husband Cam was at the other end of their house asleep with one of their children at the time.

"The bedroom was dark but I had the kitchen light on I could only see a silhouette of somebody. When I like made eye contact with this person, they started walking backwards," she shared to her 2.7 million followers online. "I was shaking. I don't think I've ever felt that scared in my whole life."

At first, Chloe claims she thought it could have been her husband, but something felt "really strange" so she went to find Cam to check if he had come into the room. "He was like 'no' [and] my heart sank. I said, 'Well, there's someone in the house'."

"For a second I did think that maybe Cam was sleepwalking but in the whole seven years I've been married to him he's never sleepwalked before (sic)."

Chloe says they checked their whole house and made sure everything was locked, but when they got to the garage they saw the manhole above Chloe's car had been slid partially open. "It definitely would be possible for someone to get up there because right underneath the manhole is my car so you can climb up onto my car and get in," she explains. Cam went up and checked the attic from the manhole but was unable to see anyone in there.

Since the ordeal, Chloe has reported the possible intruder to the police and the family is in the process of getting security cameras installed for added security.

Yahoo News Australia has reached out to Chloe regarding her ordeal and understands she is not comfortable sharing further details at this time.

Speculation a 'phrogger' living in attic

After sharing her ordeal online, hundreds flocked to share their theories with some believing the alleged intruder may be living there secretly, in what is known as 'phrogging'. "You might have a phrogger!!!" one person exclaimed. "That's immediately what I thought when she said the manhole was open," another agreed.

A 'phrogger' is someone secretly living in another person's home without their knowledge or permission.

Others hoped to offer possible explanations by sharing their own terrifying experiences with intruders and some even speculated that Chloe could have had "sleep paralysis" and therefore had seen the person there in her dream.

Chloe is a household name on TikTok and has garnered more than 120 million likes on the platform thanks to her unique food reviews and family content.
