Disturbing find in teen's bedroom after cheerleader's death

Disturbing new details have emerged from the night a cheerleader was allegedly murdered by her 14-year-old classmate.

Tristyn Bailey, 13, was found dead on Monday (local time) after she was reported missing the day before by her family.

She was last seen at the Durbin Amenity Centre in St Johns County in the US state of Florida about 1.15am Sunday.

St Johns County Sheriff Robert Hardwick told reporters her body was discovered fully-clothed in woodland near Durbin Crossing by a man searching for her.

Her classmate at the Patriot Oaks Academy, Aiden Fucci, was subsequently arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

An arrest report has revealed new details from the night Tristyn was allegedly murdered, with surveillance video showing what is believed to be Aiden and the young girl walking together at 1.45am Sunday.

Two hours later, Aiden can be seen again on the footage, this time walking alone near the community centre where she was last seen.

According to the arrest report, Aiden was seen carrying his shoes.

While in a police interview room with his mum, she asked him about the footage that showed him holding his shoes.

"The defendant admitted he took his shoes off because his feet hurt," the arrest report said.

"A search warrant was executed on the defendant's residence, where several items of evidentiary value were located in the defendant's bedroom which were consistent with clothing observed in the aforementioned video surveillance.

"Furthermore, some of these items yielded a presumptive positive test result for the presence of blood."

In a statement released by police earlier this week, they confirmed Tristyn had died of "sharp force trauma by stabbing".

Prosecutors are deliberating whether or not Aiden will be charged as an adult.

The Sun reports if he is, he could face life behind bars if he is found guilty.
