Popular drinks sold at Coles, IGA recalled over contamination fears

Four Dare iced coffee flavours have been pulled from some supermarket shelves over fears contamination could cause illness or injuries.

Food Standards Australia and New Zealand issued the recall for a number of 750ml Dare iced coffee products that have been available in Victoria.

According to the notice, there are concerns plastic pieces could be present in the drinks.

The products were sold in Victoria at independent grocery stores including IGA, convenience stores including Coles Express, as well as milk bars, cafes and bakeries.

The affected flavours include Espresso and Double Espresso, with the use by dates October 6, 8, 11, 13 and 14.

Mocha and Double Espresso No Sugar Added with use by dates October 5, 7, 11 and 15 are also being pulled from shelves.

Shoppers are warned not the consume the drinks and should contact Bega Dairy and Drinks immediately for a full refund by calling 1800 677 852 or emailing consumercare@bega.com.au.

Popular Aussie snack pulled from shelves

The latest recall comes after 45g, 90g and 170g packets of Smith's Crinkle Cut Salt and Vinegar chips were pulled from shelves over fears plastic pieces could also be present.

It is understood the affected products have been available for sale at Woolworths and independent stores in NSW and Queensland as well as IGA in Queensland.

The products affected have a best before date of January 15, 2023.

"Consumers should not eat these products. If consumers have these products please contact ​The Smith’s Snackfood Company ​to organise a refund," the recall notice states.

Aldi recalls packets of chips

Discount supermarket Aldi has also recalled Sprinters Crinkle Cut Multi Pack Chips over concerns plastic pieces may be present.

The chips being recalled have a best before date of January 1, 2023.

"The recall is due to the potential presence of foreign matter (plastic pieces)," the recall notice states.

"Food products containing plastic pieces may cause injury if consumed.

"Consumers should not eat this product and should return it to any Aldi store for a full refund."
