'Hurts too much': Dad distraught after toddler found dead in hot car

A heartbroken dad is “more than livid” after his daughter died in a hot car.

Milliani Robertson-Lawrence, 22 months old, was found unresponsive in a car parked outside a store in New Jersey on Friday about 3.38pm, NBC 10 reports.

Emergency crews tried to revive her but she was pronounced dead 20 minutes later.

Temperatures on Friday reached into the 30s.

Her dad Nasir, 21, told NBC 10 “it kills” him knowing he won’t be able to hold his little girl again.

"It hurts too much,” Mr Lawrence said.

He told CBS he learned of his daughter’s death over the phone.

A man was spotted weeping near the car but investigators haven’t said who he is or if he was meant to be looking after Milliani.

Mr Lawrence claims his daughter has been under the care of her mother.

He was recently incarcerated but has been released.

The 21-year-old was trying to gain custody.

Police haven’t said how long the little girl was in the car for. There haven’t been any charges laid yet..

Milliani’s dad said he wants justice for his daughter.
