Customer's receipt reveals restaurant worker's disgusting act
A father has been dealt a nasty surprise after he was taken out to dinner by his daughter and granddaughter.
The trio were out celebrating Father’s Day at The Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden in Astoria, New York, over the weekend when their outing quickly turned sour.
After Curtis Mays asked his server for the receipt once they had finished their meals, they were shocked to find their server had asked for the chef to spit in the father’s cheeseburger.
Along with the requests to have the patty well done and the bun toasted, the server had asked for the chef to “spit in it too”.
“I ate my burger already, I felt like I was going to throw up,” Mr Mays told US television station ABC 7.
The father says the waitress seemed pleasant but suspects the request was made when there was a mix-up with his order.
Mr Mays took the receipt to the beer garden’s manager, who he says sacked the employee on the spot before asking how he could compensate the furious father.
“He was saying, ‘how can we compensate you?’ I was like, ‘how can you compensate somebody for spitting on your food? I ate this already,” Mr Mays said.
Mr Mays was given a full refund for his meal and reassured by the manager it was very unlikely the chef had spat in his burger.
The manager also said the employee’s behaviour was unlike her.
